A brief overview
If there is anything that will never go out of fashion, it is finding cheap offers, whether for traveling or for anything else. Of course, the quality-price ratio must be preserved, it doesn’t make sense just cheap, cheap…. Based on our experiences in recent years, we will give in this post a summary of places that provide a cheap trip experience and enough quality to enjoy it.
To begin with, we will start the post with Albania, which we visit regularly of course, then we will continue to Kosovo, where even though there is no sea, there is a lot to see.
Then we will go to Corfu, Greece, an island from which we have beautiful memories. A little further north, we find Montenegro, which has a pretty large tourist offer, for a small country. Fortunately, even Spain manages to be represented in this Post as a country with cheap offers, at least on the island of Majorca.

Albania
Albania is our homeland and for us it is the most beautiful place you can visit along the Mediterranean Sea. We think that every tourist will approach our opinion about Albania after visiting it. Thanks to the geographical location and countless natural treasures, you can enjoy all types of tourism there, such as sea, lake, mountain, cultural-historical, etc.. Another advantage is the climate, which enables extensive tourism throughout the year. Another attraction is the local cuisine, part of the Mediterranean, but also many recipes that you can only taste there. Thankfully is part of our list of cheap places to travel!
Some of the most visited spots are as follows:
- Beaches from North to South of Albania (where the Albanian Riviera stands out)
- The Alps in the North (Thethi, Valbona, etc.)
- Lake Ohrid in the southeast with the town of Pogradec, Korça a little further south.

Kosovo
Kosovo is also one of the trending countries in Europe for tourism in recent years. Although there is no access to the sea, tourism is still diverse, thanks to the beautiful nature. Especially tourism activities in the mountains, rivers and lakes have a large spread throughout the country. The history is as ancient as in Albania as well as shared. It enriches Kosovo with historical-cultural jewels that are worth visiting for the importance they carry. Here too we find a favorable climate (continental Mediterranean, a little harsher than in Albania) that enables tourism throughout the year. Also in Kosovo, you can continue to enjoy Albanian cuisine, adding other recipes that are typical of Kosovo.

Corfu, Greece
Corfu is one of the most popular islands in the Ionian Sea, as well as in Greece. One of its features is the fact that you can find beaches according to personal tastes almost along the entire coast. A feature that we also liked when we visited in 2019. Of course, the biggest contributor to Corfu’s fame is coastal tourism. Luckily, Corfu too is part of the list for cheap places to travel.
But other forms of tourism are widespread, such as historical, cultural, culinary, etc. Another advantage is the climate, which enables sea tourism during most of the year. During your stay, don’t forget to enjoy the local cuisine.

Montenegro
Montenegro is another favorite place along the Adriatic Sea in the Balkans for summer vacations. It is located between Croatia and Albania offering the same weather conditions.
We have only visited it once, but that was enough to get good memories from there. Almost the entire coastline of Montenegro has the possibility to enjoy the beach. As the name of the place indicates, there you can explore mountain tourism, as well as cultural and historical. The greatest contibution to the tourism in Montenegro is carried by coastal tourism. During your stay, don’t forget to enjoy the local cuisine, because you always find things you haven’t tried before. In the Balkans, Montenegro is part of the list for cheap places to travel.

Mallorca, Spain
Majorca is one of the most popular islands in the Mediterranean and is the largest of the Balearic archipelago. With around 14 million visitors in 2023, it is among the most visited islands in the Mediterranean. Thanks to the topography and nature in Majorca, you can practice many forms of tourism, but most of the island’s visitors come here to enjoy the beautiful coasts, and more precisely, the surrounding sea is crystal clear almost everywhere. For our luck, this island is part of the list for cheap places to travel.
The tourist experience is more complete when other aspects such as historical, cultural, etc. are enjoyed. Of course, the Mediterranean climate is also dominant here, enabling coastal tourism during most of the year. During your stay, don’t forget to enjoy the local cuisine, which, in addition to typical Mediterranean recipes, also offers unique Mallorcan dishes.
